Pueblo Veteran-Owned Business Steps Up for Fellow U.S. Army Veteran in Need

Troops Haul Junk of Pueblo Provides Free Junk Removal for Senior Citizen and Decorated Army Pathfinder

PUEBLO, CO — When Pueblo resident and U.S. Army veteran Richard Mayoral needed help clearing
a large amount of junk from his home, he found himself unable to afford the service. But thanks to the
compassion of a fellow veteran and local business owner, he didn’t have to face that problem alone.

Bryan Line, owner of Troops Haul Junk of Pueblo, Colorado, learned of Richard’s situation and
immediately volunteered to complete the entire junk removal service at no cost. Bryan and his wife Kat
Line, both veterans, saw not just a customer in need—but a brother-in-arms and a member of the
Pueblo community they proudly serve.

Richard Mayoral is a senior citizen, a member of the Namba Pueblo Mambreno Apache Tribe, and a
former U.S. Army infantryman (11B3P). He served honorably from 1967–1971 in multiple storied units
including the 173rd Airborne, Bravo Company, 1/508, and 1/99th, where he earned the coveted title of
U.S. Army Pathfinder.

Bryan says the decision to help was simple.

“Pueblo‘s a really unique place to live, we are a community that is very large and diverse, but at the
same time we’re still a small enough community that we tend to look out for one another. I served all
over the world, and I’ve lived in some places where you could live next-door to someone and never
even know their name after being their neighbor for years. Pueblo isn’t like that.

We are a large community, but we’re a small community at the same time that takes care of each other
and looks out for each other. When I found out there was a veteran who needed my services but
couldn’t actually afford me, I asked myself—not only is this guy my neighbor, although he doesn’t live
right next to me, but he’s also a veteran, and veterans take care of each other.

As a Pueblo business owner, we’re always looking for opportunities to serve our community and fellow
man. What better way to show Pueblo that we care than by being selfless and serving our fellow man in
need.”

Kat Line, who co-owns and operates the business alongside Bryan, said the decision was completely in
line with who her husband is—and who they are together.

“That’s what Bryan does. Everywhere he goes, he’s always willing to lend a hand. I served in the
military myself and as a family, working as a team has always been a big part of who we are. Whether
the team is our team of employees doing Junk Removal jobs around town or us trying to decide our next family outing, we do it as a team—no one’s vote is more important than the other.

So when Bryan told me about his idea to help Richard, I was all for it. Veterans start together and we
finish together. We never leave a man behind—in the combat zone, or on the home front. We take care
of each other to the best of our ability, no matter what.”

The effort also earned praise from the Troops Haul Junk corporate team.

Joseph Martinez, Chief Operations Officer and cofounder of Troops Haul Junk, headquartered in
Stafford, Virginia, said:

“Bryan called me and asked how I felt about his idea. We encourage all of our franchise locations to
pick one or two local charities or good causes and support them financially or with their time and effort.
We’re not just about making money—any company can do that, and that’s easy.

The hard part is getting out of your comfort zone to make a difference with people. If you take care of
people, people will take care of you. Bryan is an awesome person and he’s making a difference in the
local Pueblo community, and we’re very proud of him.”

Bryan and Kat launched Troops Haul Junk in January 2024, and their location has quickly become one
of the fastest-growing in the franchise system.
