Heroes on the River is a non-profit organization that has captured the hearts of many and continues to impact the lives of combat veterans across the nation.
Not all heroes wear capes or drive batmobiles. They are not always found on basketball courts or football fields. We do not see them often on TV or hear them singing at the Grammys.
As a combat veteran of the United States Army, I have seen the best and worst of humanity. My time in the military taught me the value of discipline, teamwork, and selflessness.
As a veteran, I understand the struggles that many of my fellow servicemen and women face when transitioning back to civilian life. The transition can be difficult and overwhelming, and it can be challenging to find a sense of purpose and belonging after serving in the military.
